Delivery room diffuser

My Essential Oil Diffuser was one of the first things in my hospital bag. It will also be one of the first things we set up when we arrive at the hospital.

I have been using diffuser in my home for over 3 years now. I have used them for anything from respiratory support during colds, to help us sleep more soundly, to clean the air in our home, and to affect our moods.

I know I will want to set a certain mood in the room depending on how I feel and how the labor is going. So here are some of my favorite options for mood support:

Wild Orange and Balance: for some reason this combination of oils smells SO GOOD to me lately. It also comes to mind whenever I think about how I want the atmosphere in my delivery room. Wild Orange is always uplifting but also calming. I smells so clean and fresh. Balance is a grounding blend and just helps you to become more present in the moment. What better combination could you get?!

Serenity: is always one of my favorites for its calming effects and the sweet smell.

Citrus Bliss: smells like a creamsicle and is a combination of a few citrus oils, which are always uplifting.

Diffusing essential oils for mood support can also be helpful if it is a particularly difficult labor/delivery. During these times it will be especially helpful to keep everyone (mom, dad, doctors and nurses) calm and focused.

After the delivery, I plan to switch the oils in my diffuser to create a more calming, balancing atmosphere. This will help our new little one feel safe and calm as we bond as a family.

During my hospital stay I will also use the diffuser to make sure the air is clean and we are not allowing our guest bring unwanted germs into the room. I plan to diffuse Onguard and/or Lemon at least once a day to kill any airborne germs.

Happy Diffusing!
